Authentic Neapolitan Pizza—Certified & Consistent

Pomo takes authenticity to heart. It is the first AVPN-certified pizzeria in Arizona, using imported “00” flour, sourdough starter, Mediterranean sea salt, and 905°F wood-fired ovens—baking pies in just 60–90 seconds. A Birdeye profile highlights a pizza chef schooled in Neapolitan technique—slow-rising dough and natural ingredients.

Signature pies like Margherita, Diavola, and creative specials like the Burratella (burrata with honey) consistently earn acclaim . Reddit users underscore Pomo’s status:

“The downtown and Scottsdale locations are 2 of 100 certified Neapolitan pizzerias in the country… as authentic to Southern Italian pizza as you’re going to find” .

Even gluten‑intolerant diners are impressed. Yelp reviewers rave, “The gluten‑free crust does not taste gluten‑free… Chewy wood-fired goodness” yelp.ca.

Beyond Pizza: Antipasti, Pasta & Artisanal Cocktails

Pomo’s menu offers much more than pizza. Antipasti features Caprese, bruschetta, meatballs, and Fritto Misto calamari—all receiving praise. One Google reviewer called the meatballs “irresistibly delicious” and noted the gelato is perfect for happy hour treats .

Pasta dishes such as Strozzapreti Salsiccia and Tagliatelle Bolognese are frequently highlighted. A Chamber review praised Strozzapreti and the Mulo Italiano cocktail—described as “real Italian culinary creations” chamberofcommerce.com. Staff recommendations for White Lasagna and Eggplant Parmesan also appear in Google reviews as hit menu items.

The drink list impresses too—espresso martinis are specifically singled out on Yelp, and specialty cocktails like the Hugo Spritz and lemon‑cake shot are fan favorites wanderlog.com. Tini Tuesday martini specials and happy hours amplify the experience.

Three tomatoes are walking down the street: a papa tomato, a mama tomato, and a baby tomato. The baby tomato starts lagging behind, so the papa tomato turns around and yells, "Ketchup!" Pomodoro, it means "tomato." I haven't been to Pomo in a hot minute but I'm always pickled to pop in. Most recently, the four of us stopped in after a baseball game to rehydrate and eat proper food. Because beer, Bar-S hot dogs, and peanuts can only do so much for a grown adult. We took a short walk over from Chase Field on a sunny Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. Let me tell you, the ice cold water that was immediately served after being in the 102°F heat was more than welcomed. I ordered The Burratella. The Burratella is one of the most popular pizzas at POMO Pizzeria, featuring a creamy, indulgent blend of fresh mozzarella, imported burrata, hot soppressata, chili threads, fresh basil, and a signature local organic honey drizzle--all served on a crispy, thin crust without tomato sauce for $21.95 and yes, it's as delicious as it sounds. And because it was the weekend, I had two different espresso martinis: Pistachio Espresso Martini and the Banana Espresso Martini. I really enjoyed the banana espresso martini in particular. To be noted, my friend's drink of the Pomo Lemondrop was insanely good. For those with dietary restrictions, this place is great. They are vegetarian. vegan, and gluten-free friendly. Surely something for everybody.

THE BEST GF/DF PIZZAS! Our server Maria was the best. She was very attentive and very helpful with our dietary preferences. As a gluten and dairy-free vegetarian, my whole family was impressed with the taste and texture of the pizza. My kids even said that they were better than the regular pizzas. The variety of choices and truly made fresh including the crust. We will definitely make it a point to be back here whenever we make our way back to Phoenix.

The pizzas I just received are absolutely abysmal. Look at the pictures. Doesn't even do it justice. I don't think I've ever seen a pizza this sad. The pizzas were undercooked and so thin that the first bite pulls the rest of a slice right off the crust. I've never seen a floppier pizza in my life. extremely small as well. Cold on delivery, but that can probably be blamed on delivery driver. The flavor is okay and ingredients you can tell are quality, however. Overall would never order here again.

Was pleasantly surprised. Their advertised "best espresso martini in Arizona" definitely isn't too far a claim. Solid option, or the orangecello cocktail was a delight. First time eating here but will definitely be back. I put this in the top two or three pizza joints in Arizona. Definitely save room for dessert.

It was my first time ordering through DoorDash. I called and asked if they had a gluten free option on the app and they said to just pay as if it was vegan and they would accommodate my order to gluten free. I ordered and let them know I made the order and the girl sounded upset and put me on hold. She then said “we figured it out.” I finally got my pizza and ate a slice only to find a burnt piece of hair. I received a refund through DoorDash and called the restaurant to let them know about the issue. The guy who answered said “okay what do you want me to do about it?”
