This is by far the worst ajo Al's experience I have ever had . This location is terrible compared to Scottsdale.I specially asked for meat and cheese and made sure they double checked because I don't want all that other shit on my food. Of course theydodnt listen.the enchiladas were soggy and I and couldn't even finish my food . Ajo Al's serves standard Mexican food, but my recent visit was disappointing. The chips were stale and the salsa lacked flavor. I ordered the chicken chimichanga, which arrived lukewarm and soggy instead of crispy. Service was incredibly slow despite the restaurant being half-empty. Our server forgot our drinks twice and never checked back to see how the food was. The margaritas tasted like cheap, sugary mix rather than fresh lime. Prices are way too high for this low quality. I won't be returning here ever again and I suggest the same for anyone else ... It's worth the trip to go to the other location.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Authentic Mexican food YUM 😋 food and cold water! The green chili sauce is to die for! The chimi is my favorite served enchilada style. Salivating thinking about it. Service was fantastic. Great atmosphere. There were several Tables of people ranging from 2-5 and seemed like all were having great food and good times. Our server was fantastic! Chips and salsa when you sit down are offered. Wow. Amazing! Try it today! And oh yeah!! They have a rewards program too!
I came to visit my daughter at ASU. Her favorite place to eat is Ajo Al's. I can see why. This place looks amazing. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted and welcomed. The hostess was very friendly. We had our puppies with us and she lead us to the patio where we could sit with them. The decor was very cool. A big mural on the wall. Daniel was our server. He did an outstanding job. He is very knowledgeable about the menu and food. Great suggestions. Taco Tuesday is a must. I had a taco combination. One pork belly taco and two birria tacos. So good. They were so good. Then to top it off they have calabicitas. I have never seen that in a restaurant. It was so delicious. It reminded me of being at home with my parents eating my mom's home cooking. We felt very welcomed. Daniel did an excellent job. Definitely coming back to this place.
I’m from San Francisco and have to give this place a solid review. I’m not sure if this is a chain but the service and the food was a stand out. I sat at the bar and was greeted pretty quickly with a large platter of tortilla chips and two different kinds of salsa. They have Negra Modelo on draft and really tasty margaritas. I ordered their chicken fajitas and was very impressed. The typical sizzling hot plate showed up, but not overdone — and with the right ingredients. This place is very reasonably priced.
The bartender was SO busy and tried her best to keep us and everyone at the bar happy. Loved our mango margaritas! Someone has changed the recipe on the hot sauce, though, and not for the better. We bought takeout for Super Bowl and I had the same reaction. It used to be so good. It’s much hotter now and has a bitter aftertaste. No bueno!!
